Our dogs are always there for us. It is time that we reward them! Lucky for our pooches, Dog Fancy magazine has announced it’s 2009 America’s Best Dog Parks. Many parks were nominated, however only 10 have been selected as America’s Best. These parks have everything a dog could want and what could be better than getting outside for some fresh air and some quality time with your best friend!
Freedom Bark Park, Lowell, IN
This park was a true “Labor of Love”. It’s dog park volunteers donated over 2700 hours of service to prepare this beautiful park. The Freedom Bark Park was a creation for the community, because Lowell would not all even leashed dogs in it’s parks. This three acre park will soon become five. The park features solar powered drinking water pumps, weather shelters, plenty of shade trees, tunnel digging areas, and biodegradable doggie waste bags.
Dogwood Dog Park, Jacksonville, FL
The Dogwood Dog Park is an enormous place for your dogs to enjoy the great Florida sun. This grand dog park offers a 2 acre swimming lake for dogs, 25 acres of enclosed area, 4 acres of shade, 10 acres of natural wooded area with nature trails, small dog area, full agility course, lighted night area, and a dog shower. These resort style amenities are sure to delight your pup (and you!)
Howard & Erna Soldan Dog Park, Lansing, MI
This beautiful park in Lansing, MI is a big 18 acres and offers wooded walking trails, large pond for dogs to swim, a small dog area, and doggie drinking fountains!
Cheyenne Park Off-Leash Area, Ely, Iowa
The Cheyenne Park Off-Leash area is a true dog haven. The park is 12 acres of fun, featuring a pup playground, a small dog yard, and even a training yard for classes!
Jackson’s Howlabaloo Dog Park, Edinboro, PA
Jackson’s Howlabaloo Dog Park is a massive 58 acres of recreation fun for dogs! The park has it all, four acre off-leash area for small dogs, another four acre area for special needs and rental, a 35 acre area that is divided by activities: Agility Play, Dog Sports, Field Sports, and Open Play. It doesn’t stop there…The park also has five sparkling creeks, five doggie ponds, three walking trails and plenty of shade!
